A plaque and flowers were presented to Lynn Bublitz at the NHMSM annual meeting in February in honor of her selection by her peers as Volunteer of the Year for 2011. After being recruited by another great volunteer, Virginia Egelund, in October 2009, Lynn has become a museum leader, serving as volunteer coordinator and also as a board of directors member. A fun fact about Lynn is that she is a descendant from original Massachusetts Bay Colonists with relatives who were kidnapped by Native Americans among other adventures. Lynn and her husband Randy have three children: a soon-to-teach High School science son with a Geology major from Humboldt State, a daughter teaching drama at Hershey Academy in Pennsylvania and a daughter who is a Ph.D. candidate in Molecular Biology at UCSB. She is recently retired from the U.S. Postal Service with special training in customer service. She and her husband enjoy outdoor activities and travel in their retirement. Thank you, Lynn!
