9 Day Lesson Plan Curriculum
The TNHMSM is very proud of the Birds in Our Backyard kit, which is available to all teachers free. It can however only be checked out to schools and programs on the Central Coast.
Teachers on the Central Coast may call the museum and ask for a copy (805-614-0806).
The kit contains curriculum of lessons/experiments on the subject of birds and insects. Items needed to complete the experiments are all included in the kit.
We acknowledge the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History and the W. M. Keck Foundation for allowing use of this curriculum.

Rocks and Fossils
An Education committee is currently reviewing the Museum School OutReach Kits. A new rock and fossil kit has just been completed with the generous donation from The Society of Petroleum Engineers.
Super new Rock and Fossil kits available for loan. Ideal for 6th grade science frameworks. The kit contains interesting rock and mineral samples. If you have an interest in checking out the kit please call and leave a message for Laura Lee Dias, Education Committee Chair at the Museum, just call (805) 614-0806. The kit is free of cost to use and the rocks are heavy, so you need muscles to pick this one up and bring it back.
Program sponsored by The Society of Petroleum Engineers.
